Leonardo Bravo:
Trained in music and guitar, Leonardo Bravo studied at the School of Music at Universidad Nacional de Rosario. He has been intensely involved giving recitals both here and abroad. He has performed in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Brazil, Spain, Italy, the United States and Canada. He has won numerous and prestigious competitions for classical guitar, but never strays far from folkloric roots during his concerts. His interest in this music style generated a search which gave rise to his own compositions and revived interest in others to write new music for guitar. From 1991, he became the academic chair of guitar at Universidad Nacional de Rosario.
Leonardo Bravo has produced four recordings: Leonardo Bravo, for the Círculo Guitarrístico Argentino; Guitarists of Rosario, for the Municipal Publishers for the City of Rosario; Songs of the World, together with the tenor Enrique Francovigh; and The Soul in the Root, his new solo recording that is part of the collection of Guitars of the World. The composer Marcelo Colonel wrote music specifically for this work, which is the route to the main musical regions of Argentina.
